***UPDATE*** As of June 6, 2016, The Big Play funding program will begin accepting applications for the 2016/17 season. All available funding from the program will be awarded on a first come, first served basis until all the cash for this season has been allocated.
The Big Play, a new program funded by Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and the Hockey Canada Foundation, was created to help families afford to enroll their children in hockey.
The Big Play provides funding of up to $500/per child, subject to Jumpstart's other funding maximums and/or local demands and applications will be approved on a first come, first served basis.
Click here to learn more about this funding program and to apply online. A CRA Notice of Assessment showing family income will be need to be uploaded for the application.

GCWCC will not accept applications for both the Big Play program and the GCWCC Registration Fee Grant program. According to GCWCC, the gross family/household income threshold to qualify in Winnipeg is as follows:
The Respect in Sport Parent Program
As mandated by Hockey Winnipeg, one parent/guardian per household must complete the Respect in Sport Parent Program (RISPP). A player will not be eligible to be added to a regular season team roster until a parent/guardian has completed the RISPP course.
* If you have already completed the RISPP course and are signing up a player for the first time, you must log into your Parent Program profile and add the new player to your profile (Child Management module).
This online program only takes about 1 hour to complete. The cost is $12 plus GST and is valid for all future years. Acceptable forms of payment are credit card or Paypal. Please make sure that all of the children that you are registering in your household are listed under your RISPP profile.
The RISPP is not the same certification as the Respect in Sport program. So even though many of you may already have your Respect In Sport certification (coaches, safety persons, and managers), one adult within your household will still need to complete the RISPP.
