A Message from our FGNHA President

Hello FGNHA families,

Welcome to the 2020/2021 minor hockey season. Similar to everyone’s experiences with school, work and other activities, our situation continues to be fluid and evolving week to week. We ask for your patience and understanding, as this pandemic is unprecedented for any organized sport, let alone volunteer led kids amateur hockey.

We know there are many unanswered questions as we prepare for our first development and evaluation skates starting next weekend. Our board has been working diligently following with the information and guidelines provided from the provincial health authority and our governing bodies, Hockey Canada & Hockey MB. We are continuing with our stage 2 roll out which includes development and evaluation skates.

Our current plan is to work towards forming our teams on a timely basis, and moving to development at the team level as guidelines allow. Our current rollout plan includes moving to the competition phase if approved for November 1st.

Our association is experiencing increased fixed costs that were not part of our budget including PPE, an increase in the cost of hourly ice & equipment.

We are hopeful the season will roll out and continue as planned. If adjustments are required we will review as a board and communicate as quickly as we can.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We will keep you informed via our new website and our social media platforms.

Thank You,

Paul Arsenault
