Fort Garry North Hockey Association will be holding an Equipment Donation Drive for Nelson House Cree Nation.
Nelson House Cree Nation is a Northern Manitoba Reserve located 850 kms north of Winnipeg. They have a growing population of children becoming interested in hockey and have begun skating programs in school for grades 1-3. However, many children still face barriers when trying to join organized sport programs due to an inability to afford or access to equipment. A lot of children will have sticks and skates and will play often but without the proper safety equipment (elbow pads, shoulder pads etc...) they are stopped from participating in an organized sport program.
If you find you have some extra hockey equipment in your house that no longer fits your child and you are looking to donate it, please send us a message! We are hoping to have equipment donations together by August 1st!!!
