Community is very important to us, and with that focus, we are once again running a donation drive for The Bear Clan Patrol Inc. The Bear Clan Patrol is a community based solution to crime prevention, providing a sense of safety, solidarity and belonging to both its members and to the communities they serve. This is achieved in a non-violent, non-threatening, non-judgmental and supportive manner primarily through relationship building and reconciliation.
Each year, FGNHA minor hockey teams collect toiletries, new socks and underwear, and then stuff them into hockey socks where they are then donated to the Bear Clan Patrol to hand out to those people in our communities that need them most. This effort started 3 years ago with one team putting a donation together, and has now grown to over 10 teams involved, including our joint Female Hockey Program with SWHA, the Winnipeg Storm.
This year the FGNHA Peewee A1 Black Team will be submitting for the 2020 Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup We will be collecting donations of toiletries, and stuffed hockey socks, up until the evening of Monday, December 16th, where we will then present the Bear Clan Patrol, the full donation then. We will have all of our teams involved there that evening to help out, and celebrate a great community effort. There will be skating on the Outdoor Rink as well that evening.
The event will take place starting at 6 pm on Monday, December 16th, at Waverley Heights Community Club, 1885 Chancellor Dr, Winnipeg, MB.
We would like to thank our very generous Community Sponsors for helping us out with this event.
