Coach and Player Development Program
The overall goal and focus of FGNHA CPD is to provide all of our players and volunteer coaches with supplementary experiences that are age appropriate, complimentary to player on-ice skill development and most importantly, support their growth and appreciation of becoming a life-long athlete. In an effort to enhance the overall hockey experience for all participants, FGNHA continually invests in programs and infrastructure that provide both our players and coaches with an opportunity to further develop their core skills. Players can attend a variety of development sessions that occur throughout the hockey season. Our coaches have the opportunity to participate in the player development sessions along with coaching development programs. During the Hockey season, FGNHA provides Coach and Player Development Programs that focus on improving the skills of both our players (ages 5 to 17 years old) and our volunteer coaches. As an association we fund over 115 hours of on-ice instruction which are led by RINK Training Centre and JP Vigier. Some of the highlights of the programs offered during the hockey season include:

These sessions were run at no additional cost to any of the players and/or coaches who participated.
FGNHA has expanded its CPD initiatives funding new programs:

RINK Training Centre Player and Goalie Sessions
The Hockey Winnipeg Coach Development & Mentorship Program is now available for all FGNHA coaches. The program is free for all who choose to participate, and consists of online and on-ice clinics. It is open to all U7-U18, AAA, AA, A, HL coaches in Winnipeg. Space for all clinics is limited and registration will be a first-come first-serve basis. Any coach who registers & attends an online clinic will also receive weekly skills based practice plans, skill and drill demonstrations, and education materials from Evolution Hockey for the entire season.
